Original Note:

Context: The disco party appearance (beams) is simply radio frequency interference caused by external sources transmitting on a similar frequency to the radar. This is a normal, extremely common, daily occurrence on NEXRAD since the S-band (2-4GHz) is congested. https://www.roc.noaa.gov/public-documents/operations-branch/Data_Quality_Oddities_and_Anomalies.pdf https://www.roc.noaa.gov/public-documents/operations-branch/webinar-wsr-88d-interference.pdf https://www.mdpi.com/2076-3298/6/12/126 https://journals.ametsoc.org/view/journals/bams/97/7/bams-d-15-00048.1.xml?tab_body=pdf https://www.ntia.doc.gov/files/ntia/publications/13-490_1_.pdf
