The social security database is coded in COBOL which does not have a date type hence dates entered in variable ways could result the incorrect century being recorded. Years entered as 2 digits (eg ‘75) could easily result in the wrong century being recorded, eg 1875 not 1975. https://www.wired.com/story/elon-musk-doge-social-security-150-year-old-benefits/
