Original Note:
While Hepatitis B can be transmitted via IV drug use and sex, vertical transmission (mother to baby) is the most common form of transmission. Giving the Hep B vaccine with Hep B immune globulin (HBIG) reduces risk of Hep B positive mother giving baby Hep B to <5%. https://www.cdc.gov/hepatitis-b/media/HepBPerinatal-ProtectHepBYourBaby.pdf https://www.chop.edu/vaccine-education-center/vaccine-details/hepatitis-b-vaccine
