Rees Newman is a child rapist, and he did escape jail because of overcrowding, and he did come before Lloyd-Clarke for sentencing. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13768989/child-rapist-spared-jail-prison-overcrowding.html His rape offence is historic (2005). Newman, however, breached his sentence as a registered sex offender.
