The Nazi salute starts with the arm at the side and then raised vertically straight ahead to a 45 degree angle. See Hitler Youth picture @ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_salute Mr Musk had his hand over his heart and moved his arm out to the crowd. His arm points to the far right side of his body.
