Wind relies fully on gas to operate. Without 100% gas backup there would be no wind on the grid as it is too unreliable. Therefor, it makes no difference to energy security, as we still need enough gas to cover our needs at any moment when the wind stops. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S136403211631036X
