The King does indeed have the power to dissolve Parliament. The Dissolution and Calling of Parliament Act 2022 affirms his prerogative powers in this area are not subject to the courts. Parliaments are typically dissolved on the "advice" of ministers, but do not have to be. https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2022/11/section/2
