Original Note:
Fossil fuels, despite their name, do not come from dinosaurs. They are almost completely comprised of plant material that died before the end of the Carboniferous period. The reason they are not renewable is because plant-eating fungi developed. https://www.nsf.gov/news/news_summ.jsp?cntn_id=124570#:~:text=The%20end%20of%20a%20geologic%20era&text=The%20study%20indicates%20that%20white,the%20Carboniferous%20was%20no%20coincidence. https://ucmp.berkeley.edu/carboniferous/carboniferous.php#:~:text=The%20Carboniferous%20Period%20lasted%20from,midwestern%20and%20eastern%20North%20America.
