Original Note:

There was a vaccine candidate that used a tiny fragment of a protein from HIV, called gp41. This fragment was used as a “molecular clamp” to lock the spike protein into a shape that’s best suited to activate an immune response. The vaccine was never rolled out: https://fullfact.org/health/covid-vaccine-HIV-fragment-australia-horizon/ https://www.indiatoday.in/fact-check/story/was-hiv-used-to-make-the-covid-vaccine-heres-what-you-need-to-know-2331262-2023-02-06 https://healthfeedback.org/claimreview/approved-covid19-vaccines-dont-contain-hiv-proteins-dont-cause-aids-contrary-claim-misquoting-bbc-documentary/ https://news.weill.cornell.edu/news/2022/08/sars-cov-2-mrna-vaccination-exposes-latent-hiv-in-lab-studies
