Original Note:
Bruises happen when the smallest vessels under the skin (capillaries) break and start to leak, causing discolouration. Blood thinners are designed to slow down the blood clotting, so the broken blood vessels take longer to stop leaking, which can lead to a worse bruise. https://www.bhf.org.uk/informationsupport/heart-matters-magazine/medical/ask-the-experts/bruises-from-blood-thinners#:~:text=Bruises%20happen%20when%20the%20smallest,bruise%20or%20bruising%20more%20easily. https://thrombosis.org/2023/02/prescribed-blood-thinner/ https://www.webmd.com/first-aid/causes-bruises
