Original Note:

Those white lines in the sky are contrails, they are made of ice and they are the natural result of adding water vapour from the combustion of hydrocarbon fuel to very cold, humid air. Therefore, they have been making persistent clouds since the earliest days of flight. https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Annette-Ryan/publication/235351579_World_War_II_contrails_A_case_study_of_aviation-induced_cloudiness/links/5c3506e0a6fdccd6b59d7c61/World-War-II-contrails-A-case-study-of-aviation-induced-cloudiness.pdf https://ntrs.nasa.gov/api/citations/19930093080/downloads/19930093080.pdf https://journals.ametsoc.org/view/journals/mwre/49/7/1520-0493_1921_49_412c_cfbsp_2_0_co_2.xml
