Original Note:
The Inquisition was less deadly than human sacrifices in America. Whereas hundreds of thousands of indigenous americans were sacrificed in Aztec rituals, from ~125,000 people that faced trials by the Inquisition, only a ~1%-3% of them were executed. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2004/jun/16/artsandhumanities.internationaleducationnews#:~:text=Estimates%20of%20the%20number%20killed,ranged%20from%2030%2C000%20to%20300%2C000. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_sacrifice_in_Aztec_culture#:~:text=Many%20scholars%20today%20place%20the,for%20the%20entire%20Aztec%20Empire.
