Original Note:
The top 1% pay 30% of all income tax revenues in the UK: a higher share than at any time in past twenty years. The top 5% pay almost half. It’s therefore objectively wrong to suggest that the UK doesn’t tax the rich. https://www.lse.ac.uk/research/research-for-the-world/economics/how-much-tax-do-the-rich-really-pay#:~:text=In%20one%20respect%2C%20the%20UK,by%20just%20over%20300%2C000%20individuals. https://hansard.parliament.uk/Commons/2023-11-14/debates/AA59871F-4E6F-420F-B106-98026F0F29B9/WealthTax#:~:text=It%20is%20important%20to%20remember,%25%20as%20much%20as%2028%25.
