Governments have TWO methods of fighting inflation: Monetary Policy and Fiscal Policy. https://www.federalreserve.gov/faqs/money_12855.htm The Inflation Reduction Act was a Fiscal Policy intended to suppress price increases (ie, inflation), not to reduce prices (ie, deflation). The Fed raising rates was Monetary Policy.
