His campaign set up a Go-fund-me page, and the 7 millions came from other people's donations. https://www.reuters.com/fact-check/trump-gofundme-donations-will-support-hurricane-helene-victims-2024-10-04/ By doing this, instead of just endorsing a non-profit organization, he managed to take credit, but at the cost of the GFM fee.
