Original Note:
While it is true bear meat can contain a number of parasites, it can be eaten safely if harvested and prepared properly. Freezing for at least 24hrs AND cooking to an internal temperature of 165 degrees (no pink or red) is the proper way to ensure safe consumption. https://www.outdoorlife.com/hunting/bear-meat/ https://wyomingwildlife.org/bear-hunting-and-a-case-for-packing-bear-meat/ https://www.mass.gov/info-details/how-to-prepare-and-cook-black-bear-meat
