The reason for this change is because it is dangerous for a child to hide in a dryer. In average, 2000 kids a year get injured due to climbing inside of dryers. Disney did not want to unintentionally encourage kids to do that, thus they edited the scene slightly. https://www.fatherly.com/news/disney-changed-lilo-stitch
