Original Note:

Oil prices increased from -$35 a barrel to $55 a barrel in the last 9 months of Trump’s presidency. Oil sits around $70 today, which is a 45% decrease from the 2022 peak of $125. This has not resulted in a reduction in prices of goods so the theory simply is not supported. https://tradingeconomics.com/commodity/crude-oil
