Original Note:
When a CME hits, auroras appear at both poles. The Southern Hemisphere is sparsely populated between -40° & -90° so the aurora australis is less observed. Only in peak years can it reach Australia, which, it should be noted, is at a similar latitude to Spain in the north. https://www.forbes.com/sites/alexledsom/2024/01/23/top-places-to-see-the-southern-lights-aurora-australis/ https://blog.polartours.com/the-northern-and-southern-lights-polar-opposites https://www.mapsofworld.com/
