According to the photographer of this image, Marco Di Lauro, these people weren't killed by the US as the post suggests. Instead, the mass grave reportedly contained the remains of Shi'ite Muslims executed by Saddam Hussein's government in 1991 during the Gulf War. https://x.com/talhagin/status/1844646647902417130
