Kontext: Die Chapelle Saint-Martin in Sablé-sur-Sarthe wurde ab 1880 ohne ausreichende Fundamente gebaut und hatte von Anfang an Stabilitätsprobleme. 1980 wurde sie als gefährlich eingestuft und stillgelegt. Eine Sanierung wurde erwogen, war aber zu teuer.
