Bappi Lahiri and Lata’s record label sued for 500 million https://www.billboard.com/music/music-news/indian-composer-sues-over-truth-hurts-sample-73635/ and issued an injunction against further sales. However, a judge later dismissed the case based on copyright law in India and Lata’s label lost on appeal. Regardless the lawsuit did put a damper on Truth Hurts career.
