Original Note:
Misleading without Context in Main Post. Image is out of focus, hence the disk and not point source. Movement is entirely due to diffraction of the light by moving air currents in the Earth's atmosphere (and within the scope tube). Its not the "surface" of the star moving. https://www.skyatnightmagazine.com/advice/airy-disc https://www.eso.org/gen-fac/pubs/astclim/papers/lz-thesis/node11.html#:~:text=The%20seeing%20effects%20are%20caused,fluctuations%20in%20amplitude%20and%20phase.
