Original Note:

Every state and Puerto Rico has a "Safe Haven" or "Baby Moses" law allowing a newborn to be dropped off anonymously at a safe place, typically a fire station, police station, or medical facility. Texas was the first to pass such a law, in 1999. https://dhhs.ne.gov/Safe%20Haven%20Documents/Safe%20Haven%20Ages%20in%20the%20United%20States.pdf https://cwig-prod-prod-drupal-s3fs-us-east-1.s3.amazonaws.com/public/documents/safehaven.pdf https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/safe-haven-laws-by-state https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safe-haven_law
