The pension is indexed to CPI. This has been the policy under Liberal & Labor Governments since the early 1970’s. The LNP have never said it shouldn't be indexed to CPI rises. If you look at legislation, a Liberal Govt. legislated it into parliament. https://www.csc.gov.au/Defined-benefit-members/Receiving-a-pension/CPI-rates-and-your-pension
