Original Note:
The Sumerian calendar doesn't have a direct connection to the heliacal rising of Sirius. The statement that both calendars begin on July 23 is incorrect. The ancient Egyptian calendar began on the date of the heliacal rising of Sirius, which occurred around July 19. https://www.gautschy.ch/~rita/archast/sirius/siriuseng.htm https://m.espacepourlavie.ca/en/monthly-sky/heliacal-rising-sirius https://nilescribes.org/2017/12/20/the-ancient-egyptian-calendar/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egyptian_calendar https://www.universalworkshop.com/heliacal-risings-and-settings/
