Tim Walz did not “abandon” his unit, as they were not aware that they would be deploying. The article also makes it seem as though Walz not being there caused the soldiers death, as he died from a road side bomb, which Walz did not have any specialized training in. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Walz#Military_service
