Cholesterol standards 40 yrs ago 300mg/dL was normal. Now AHA and ACC recommend total cholesterol below 200 mg/dL, LDL ("bad" cholesterol) under 100 mg/dL, & HDL ("good" cholesterol) above 60 mg/dL.
