Original Note:

Although the medieval plague pandemic started with rodents, it was mostly fleas on humans and other animals that spread it, including cats. It didn't kill 1/4 of the world's population. The banning cats story didn't happen either. https://talesoftimesforgotten.com/2019/11/05/were-cats-really-killed-en-masse-during-the-middle-ages/ https://historyforatheists.com/2017/04/cats-the-black-death-and-a-pope/ https://going-medieval.com/2023/05/16/on-cats/ https://twitter.com/TimONeill007/status/1614778439181168641 https://www.medievalists.net/2022/12/scientific-facts-black-death/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdNCVCKL6Rg&ab_channel=Christian-Albrechts-Universit%C3%A4tzuKiel
