Original Note:
It is incorrect to say that the last 14 years were an education failure. In 2010, 68% of UK schools were rated positively, compared to 90% in 2023 (Ofsted). Children's literacy improved (DfE), and England is amongst the highest performing countries globally (PISA). https://educationhub.blog.gov.uk/2022/11/29/88-of-schools-now-rated-good-or-outstanding-and-how-were-making-sure-ofsted-ratings-are-up-to-date/ https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/state-funded-schools-inspections-and-outcomes-as-at-31-december-2023/main-findings-state-funded-schools-inspections-and-outcomes-as-at-31-december-2023 https://www.gov.uk/government/news/major-international-study-shows-englands-15-year-olds-performing-poorly-in-mathematics-science-and-reading https://www.gov.uk/government/news/england-among-highest-performing-western-countries-in-education http://www.education.gov.uk/inthenews/inthenews/a0070008/secretary-of-state-comments-on-pisa-study-of-school-systems
