Original Note:
This is referring to Just Stop Oil's recent attack on Stonehenge. Lichen covers and protects the stones of Stonehenge. Damage to the lichen will mean that the stones are less protected by pollution from the environment. Contact with the stones is limited to protect them. https://m.jpost.com/environment-and-climate-change/article-807211 https://stonehengevisit.co.uk/touch-stones#:~:text=Also%2C%20with%20people%20constantly%20touching%20the%20stones%2C%20the%20lichen%20that%20surrounds%20the%20stones%20(which%20is%20also%20protecting%20them)%20will%20be%20less%20able%20to%20grow%20and%20will%20mean%20that%20the%20stones%20are%20less%20protected%20by%20pollution%20from%20the%20environment
