Under the current Conservative government, the highest number of migrants have crossed the channel ever in 2024. On Tuesday 18th June a near record 882 migrants crossed. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/06/19/migrants-channel-crossing-record-figure-2022-home-office/#:~:text=More%20than%20800%20migrants%20crossed,started%20crossing%20six%20years%20ago.
