Original Note:

NNN. The proposed note is incorrect. Arthur Balfour resigned as prime minister in December 1905 and the following month the Conservatives suffered a landslide defeat at the 1906 election, in which he lost his own seat. He was NOT prime minister during the election. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1906_United_Kingdom_general_election#:~:text=Balfour's%20unseating%20became%20symbolic%20of,seat%20in%20a%20General%20election
