The government doesn’t control inflation, the Bank of England does. However, via the sale of gilts, the Tories raised £ to fund COVID, paid for by QE. This drove inflation up. Now this is being reversed by the BoE. Costs are NOT going down, they’re still increasing. https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/monetary-policy/inflation
