Original Note:
The bump stock ban was an ATF rule, not a law enacted by the president. SCOTUS held the ATF exceeded its authority, as bump stocks don't meet the definition of a machine gun, that expanded definitions must come from Congress, and the rule change violated the Constitution. https://www.scotusblog.com/case-files/cases/garland-v-cargill/ https://medillonthehill.medill.northwestern.edu/2024/03/garland-v-cargill/
