Original Note:
Using a magnet to test for heavy metals in food is not a reliable method. Heavy metals commonly of concern in food, such as lead, cadmium, mercury, and arsenic, are not magnetic. Therefore, a magnet would not attract these metals or help in detecting their presence. https://www.agilent.com/en/support/atomic-spectroscopy/atomic-absorption/flame-atomic-absorption-instruments/how-does-aas-work-aas-faqs https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10528236/
