Original Note:

The Court did not forbid Congress from banning bump stocks, nor did it express an opinion on the merits of a bump-stock ban. The Court held that the current law does not give the ATF statutory authority to ban bump stocks. Congress can change the law and ban bump stocks. https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/4722204-alito-congress-ban-bump-stocks/ https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/23pdf/22-976_e29g.pdf
