This map contains a factual error and a misrepresentation. According to the resolutions of the United Nations, Crimea is part of Ukraine and it is only temporarily occupied by Russia. After the fall of the Soviet Union, Russia recognised that Crimea is Ukrainian. https://apnews.com/article/ukraine-united-nations-general-assembly-united-nations-crimea-russia-5d07b07b129c65f07d107644ebec2ba9 https://www.nytimes.com/1991/12/03/world/ex-communist-wins-in-ukraine-yeltsin-recognizes-independence.html https://www.cfr.org/article/how-russias-invasion-ukraine-violates-international-law https://www.atlanticcouncil.org/blogs/ukrainealert/vladimir-putin-just-tacitly-admitted-crimea-is-not-really-part-of-russia/
