Original Note:
The reference to "atmospheric gravity waves" without further context could confuse audience. This is a genuine phenomena. It happens when air gets pushed up into a higher altitudes (ex: due to hills ) , up towards and against a much more stable airflow. https://www.weather.gov/source/zhu/ZHU_Training_Page/Miscellaneous/gravity_wave/gravity_wave.html https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3923105/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hpk1WQNcV44 https://nvlpubs.nist.gov/nistpubs/jres/69D/jresv69Dn3p375_A1b.pdf
