Original Note:

The sky is blue due to Rayleigh scattering, which scatters shorter wavelengths (blue) more than longer wavelengths (red) when sunlight passes through the atmosphere. This scattering causes the sky to appear blue to our eyes, which are more sensitive to blue light. https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/medicine-and-dentistry/rayleigh-scattering
