Once again author implies it failed unexpectedly. It took 2.5 hrs to descend the thick atmosphere by parachute, instruments measuring atmos' properties. After landing it lasted 1hr 12m, continuing to make measurements and images before succumbing to the known -180degC temp. https://science.nasa.gov/mission/cassini/spacecraft/huygens-probe/
