Original Note:
The dark shadow observed in front of the contrail is indeed a shadow. It is caused by the contrail casting a shadow onto a lower atmospheric layer, which can be seen under certain conditions when the alignment of the sun, contrail, and observer's perspective coincide. https://earthscience.stackexchange.com/questions/24127/explanation-for-contrail-with-a-dark-line https://contrailscience.com/contrails-dark-lines-chemtrails/ https://atoptics.co.uk/blog/contrail-shadows/ https://www.newsweek.com/dementor-shape-sky-plane-passenger-wild-theories-1677178
