Original Note:
Comparing current solar activity to the 1859 Carrington Event is highly misleading. Current solar activity is stronger than usual, but is not even in the top 50 events of the last 30 years. Minor radio blackouts due to solar activity happen a few times per year. https://www.space.com/sun-x-class-solar-flare-may-6-2024-radio-blackouts https://www.spaceweatherlive.com/en/solar-activity/solar-flares.html https://www.spaceweatherlive.com/en/solar-activity/top-50-solar-flares.html https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/phenomena/solar-flares-radio-blackouts https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/noaa-scales-explanation
