Original Note:
A pilonidal cyst is a pocket in the skin that contains hair & skin debris. The cyst is usually always near the tailbone and occurs when hair punctures the skin, then becomes embedded. If infected, it can be very painful. The cyst can be drained through a small cut in the skin. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/pilonidal-cyst/symptoms-causes/syc-20376329
