This is inaccurate, the Royal Air Force actually had greater lift capacity last year than it does today. In June last year, 15 C-130J transport aircraft were withdrawn from service, leaving the RAF with eight C-17A Globemaster and 22 Airbus A400M Atlas transport aircraft. https://www.raf.mod.uk/news/articles/the-hercules-in-raf-service/
