Original Note:
The Holocaust Memorial was built in Hyde Park specifically so that the Metropolitan Police would protect it from vandalism. When the Holocaust Memorial's site was agreed in 1981, Hyde Park was the only Royal Park patrolled by the Met Police, not the Royal Parks Constabulary. https://uclpress.scienceopen.com/hosted-document?doi=10.14324/111.444.jhs.2023v54.02#:~:text=Ultimately%20the%20Government%2C%20led%20by%20Heseltine%20in%20the%20Department%20for%20the%20Environment%2C%20decided%20that%20Hyde%20Park%20would%20be%20the%20solution%20to%20all%20the%20various%20concerns%3A%20it%20was%20the%20only%20Royal%20Park%20patrolled%20by%20the%20London%20Metropolitan%20Police%2C%20which%20it%20was%20hoped%20would%20ward%20off%20vandalism
