Original Note:

The PEMDAS application here is incorrect. You always read left-to-right when you have multiple operations of the same precedence (like multiplication and division). 6 ÷ 2 × 3 = 3 × 3 = 9 You should get 9 regardless of the acronym you use to remember the order of operations. https://www.khanacademy.org/math/cc-sixth-grade-math/x0267d782:cc-6th-exponents-and-order-of-operations/x0267d782:more-on-order-of-operations/a/order-of-operations-review
