Original Note:
Transgender people were sent to concentration camps during the Nazi regime. They were often persecuted under §175 and §183 of the German Criminal Code (Strafgesetzbuch – StGB). Prior to Nazi control, Germany was a mecca for LGBT+ culture and community. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transgender_people_in_Nazi_Germany#Imprisonment_in_concentration_camps https://mjhnyc.org/events/transgender-experiences-in-weimar-and-nazi-germany/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_homosexual_movement#Lesbian_and_transvestite_organizations https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persecution_of_homosexuals_in_Nazi_Germany#Background https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/article/gay-men-under-the-nazi-regime https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/article/paragraph-175-and-the-nazi-campaign-against-homosexuality https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paragraph_175 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paragraph_183
