Original Note:

The reason the UK skies were full of contrails this weekend is very well understood. The air at airliner cruising altitude was extremely humid, causing contrails to linger and spread. Today (Monday 15th) the humidity dropped drastically, and the contrails stopped. https://earth.nullschool.net/#2024/04/13/0900Z/wind/isobaric/250hPa/anim=off/overlay=relative_humidity/orthographic=-1.75,52.56,2627
