Original Note:

The 1 in a trillion, meaningless, made up. Total eclipses occur on other planets. The distance of Sun/Moon to Earth varies, hence we see both Annular and Total Eclipses. The dist. was shorter in past, and the Moon moving away from Earth so only in this period of history. https://www.weather.gov/fsd/suneclipse https://www.forbes.com/sites/jamiecartereurope/2018/08/10/earth-is-not-the-only-planet-in-the-solar-system-that-gets-total-solar-eclipses/?sh=7f1fc0dc372a
